Iron Templars Best Bronze Legion

My Lords,

I cannot say why, but the Iron Templars and Bronze Legion were again battling.  It appeared to be another practice, but with more intensity between the two commanders.

Having returned to their Fortress Monastery to perform more bolter drills, the Iron Templars decided to fight a practice battle in order to get back into shape for fighting heretics and xenos.  The Bronze Legion eagerly accepted, as they had not battled since the last time the Iron Templars had.  The Templars lined up their squads, the heavy weapons finding the best fire lanes they could, while their heavy bolter equipped Devastator squad found itself a position in a ruined tower in the center of the battlefield.  The Legion split their forces in two, each supported by a Dreadnought, one of them consisting of Tactical squads and a Scout squad, the other consisting of two Devastator squads, a Terminator squad, a Tactical squad, and a Predator.

The Templars took advantage of the Legion's slow attempts to get into position.  They opened fire, picking off a handful of Marines.  The Legion responded by moving their vehicles out of cover and opening fire, killing a handful of Templars Marines.  The Templars' Land Speeders pounced on the Dreadnought in front of them, blowing off both of its weapons.  Other heavy weapons fired and quickly destroyed the other Dreadnought and the Predator.

The rest of the battle was a static firefight.  The Legion Marines destroyed all but one of the Land Speeders, that last one falling to the ground with heavy damage, its crew refusing to give up the battle.  The Iron Templars took heavy casualties, but decimated most of the Bronze Legion squads, finally destroying the second Dreadnought.  The Terminators, having taken some casualties, decided to retreat from the battlefield, the Bronze Legion Commander included.  This was a signal for the rest of the Marines, who called off the battle and accepted the Iron Templars' superiority at firepower.

With the strengths demonstrated by both chapters in this battle, I have no doubt they are ready to take on the enemies of the Imperium once more.

Loyally yours,
Scribe Gravus Marius
