NECRONS RISE FROM TOMBS, ATTACK WORLDS THROUGHOUT SECTOR

The forces of the Necrons have begun to appear all across the sector, and their presence is certainly being felt!  They assaulted the world Remas from space, crashing through its defenses and landing thousands of warriors.  They first assaulted the small village of Thames, seemingly intent on slaughtering the populace.  But the Ultramarines of Commander Marsius were there to help the people, protecting them with all their being.  The Necrons were not to be denied, and caused much harm.  But their objective wasn't simply to lay waste to the village.  They captured a small child, one thought to have a rare genetic defect, and once the child was in the Lord's possession he teleported himself and his warriors, with the child, from the battle.  Marsius was devastated by the loss, and decided to leave the ruined village behind.  The Necrons gained a foothold on the world in the ruins.

In another strange move on Remas, they attacked a temple that was not in any Imperial records, a shrine to an ancient god.  Wolf Lord Kalnar's Space Wolves were ready for them.  Having had their honour already slighted once by the Ultramarines, the Space Wolves fought with great vigor.  Their path to victory would be tough, as the Grey Hunters and Land Raider were destroyed rapidly, and the mighty Bjorn's power claw was blasted from his side.  The young Blood Claws took offense at such cowardly and despicable acts, and set upon the rest of the Necron force with great abandon, tearing many robotic warriors limb from limb in their rage.  In the end, the Necrons were forced to retreat, leaving the temple to the Space Wolves.  After the battle, Kalnar was quoted as saying, "Marsius should watch our battle holos.  He might learn how to fight a real man's war!"

They would not get far.  On the plains of Marathon the Space Wolves caught the few Necron survivors.  They quickly moved toward the Necrons, but not before the Lord was able to teleport his warriors to safety.  The Space Wolves were enraged at this, but could do nothing.  The Necron Lord's mysterious dark field had taken the Necrons from the fight, leaving the Space Wolves empty handed in their pursuit of the Necrons.  The Necrons grabbed a nearby village, slaughtering the people and setting up defensible positions.

And so it was left to Commander Frete to try to wrest control of the world from the Necrons.  In a lightning assault, his Ultramarines attacked the Necrons' hastily constructed bunkers.  The Ultramarines fought hard, letting loose on the Necrons with vast amounts of long range weapons.  The Necrons were overwhelmed by the fire, and teleported from the village, leaving it to the Ultramarines.  Frete was enthralled at his victory, until he learned the Necrons had merely relocated to the city of Jorval and taken captive its masses.

DARK ELDAR SLAUGHTER CONTINUES

The dark lord Maldroui has continued his onslaught.  On Menel his forces fell upon the Necrons who had recently taken control of the world.  The Necrons fought hard, but Maldroui was not to be denied.  He personally assaulted the Necrons with his Incubi bodyguard, tearing apart the very robotic warriors who had just decimated much of his army with their firepower.  By the day's end, less than a fifth of the original Dark Eldar force was left, but the Necrons were forced from the world, leaving it and its myriad cities to Maldroui.

Hive Fleet Scylla probed the defense of the Dark Eldar, launching an attack on Menel shortly after the Dark Eldar moved in.  But with their soldiers prepared and waiting for the Tyranids, the Dark Eldar had little trouble in holding off the alien monstrosities.  The Tyranids were wiped out almost to a bug, leaving just the Hive Tyrant and a lone Termagant to retreat in the wake of the deadly Dark Eldar firepower.  The Tyrant and a single Stealer were able to survive great amounts of firepower, though the Stealer could not hold on for too long and died to a splinter rifle shot.  But the Dark Eldar took little losses.  The Dark Eldar, with no more threats, took complete control of Menel and enslaved those it did not kill.  A member of Maldroui's force contacted GSG and is quoted as saying, "All of the civilized species within this sector should be grateful for what we did on this world.  We ridded you not only of the Sleeping Ones who had plagued this world, but also a large part of the force which you call Hive Fleet Scylla."  When questioned on the enslaving of Menel's populace, the Dark Eldar simply said, "What slaves?  We have no slaves here, merely citizens who are happy to be liberated from the tyrannical Imperium and shown what true pleasures await them in the galaxy."

ADEPTUS ASTARTES VALIANTLY DEFEND QENTIS

Our loyal defenders, the Adeptus Astartes, have done well in stemming the flow of alien forces into our beloved sector.  On Qentis, the Ultramarines of Commander Frete were assaulted by the notorious Ork Warlord Ben (reports are conflicting as to whether this is the warlord's actual name, or merely a 'codename').  The Orks did well initially, taking some ground and setting up bunkers around which they could build a fortress.  But the Ultramarines launched a vicious counter-attack, smashing apart the Ork horde and wiping out several in combat with a mob of Orks that outnumbered them by far.  Many Orks remained in position in the bunkers through heavy firing from the Ultramarines, and one lone Grot somehow managed to survive it all by hiding in cover.  But the Orks were driven from their bunkers, leaving the city they had taken to the Ultramarines.

Undaunted, Warlord Ben assaulted an Imperial weapons depot, attempting to grab some heavy firepower for his forces.  More Ultramarines, this time led by Commander Marsius who had rushed to Frete's aid all the way from Remas, were waiting for the Orks.  Several attempts were made to break the Imperial lines, but thanks to the valiant charge of Brother Terminator Darius and his squad, the depot was saved.  Darius and his men are estimated to have survived almost a hundred rounds of heavy bore automatic weapons fire, and are credited with the destruction of a bike mob, a buggy, a 'tankbusta' mob, and the Ork lobbas.  They also immobilized the Ork battlewagon, which had been built from the shell of a once-mighty Land Raider, now re-captured and being repaired by the Ultramarines.  Marsius told GSG reporters, "Darius and his squad performed many heroic acts, and surely were the cause of our victory.  They shall truly enter the Emperor's Light."

MIXED FEELINGS FOR WOLF LORD KALNAR AFTER VICTORY, DEFEAT ON CORINTH

On Corinth, the Space Wolves are still having trouble dealing with Hive Fleet Scylla.  Around the ruins of Plinth, many Space Wolves were caught unaware by a night attack.  Though they were surprised, the Space Wolves were no pushovers, and quickly stepped up to the task.  The Whirlwind and a Wulfen-marked Wolf Guard took out much of the Tyranid force, as the Tyranids had problems adjusting to the darkness and the sudden illumination provided by the Whirlwind's rockets and the resultant explosions.  Without many losses, the Space Wolves were able to clear the Tyranids from the field.

The next night, the Tyranids launched another assault, this time at a factory.  The battle was very bloody, as the Tyranids had quickly adapted to the unfamiliar light conditions.  The Space Wolves took heavy losses, but in turn wiped out all of the Tyranids except the Hive Tyrants leading them and a lone Biovore.  Though they all lost their live, the Space Wolves had dealt a heavy blow to the Tyranids.  Unfortunately, the Tyranids now had control of a factory with which they could quickly strip minerals from the land's rock and create new monstrosities with tougher armour.

RELIGIOUS RIOTS BREAK OUT ON POLIS

A popular cult has risen to prominence on Polis, causing worldwide religious riots. The Cult of the Star Child, long outlawed by the Adeptus Arbites, calls for the worship of a new god, the Star Child, and promises freedom from tyranny and oppression. Since they believe the Imperium is oppressive and tyrannical, this has caused many problems in the area.  Arbite Judges have assured GSG that they are getting the situation under control, and all collaborators will be executed under the provisions of Imperial law.

FIRES BREAK OUT ON TILM

The agricultural world of Tilm has been struck by some very nasty fires lately, causing cast amounts of damage to the crops.  This has caused prices of agricultural products to skyrocket, prompting some harsh protests from merchants in the region.

WARSHIP WRECKAGE REMAINS A MYSTERY

The warship wreckage found just two days ago orbiting Korvald remains a mystery to the local investigators.  Reports describe wreckage from an Imperial Navy warfleet and an Ultramarines warfleet, but no alien warships.  The wreckage is intermingled in such a manner as to suggest a battle between the two fleets, but such a battle would be impossible between two loyal fleets.  Investigations as to the cause of the two fleets' destruction is continuing.
