Here is an idea to stylize you stands while adding functionality.
Adhere a navigational graphic to the bottom side of a transparent base. Here is how:
1) Create the graphic (or feel free to use the one I sent, "base_art.gif") round 1.25" in diameter.
2) Print the graphic. Remember thee higher the quality of print and printer the better looking the graphic. I get color laser prints at a local printer.
3) Once the ink has dried, I suggest you wait 15 minutes, spray the print side of the paper with spray adhesive or you can use a clear gluestick.
4) Place the clear base centered on the graphic before the glue dries. See example included. This is easier if the base has not been adhered to the stem. It is also much easier to align a ship to a graphic already on a base than a ship with a base to a graphic.
5) Now that you have a base glued to a huge sheet of paper, you can use the base to properly trim off the undesirable paper.
Voila, you now have an attractive base that is really very helpful. This is the graphic I designed for my Battle Barge when I get it.
