Ramming

by Erik Setzer

Ships may choose to ram other ships.  To do this, move the ramming ship straight forward until it touches the rammed ship.   Depending on the positions of the two ships during the ram, both ships could take damage.

Front Against Front

If the ramming ship runs into the front of the enemy ship, both ships take D6 Damage.

Side Hit

If the ramming ship runs into the side of the enemy ship, then the enemy ship takes D3 damage and the ramming ship takes 1 damage.

Rear Hit

If the ramming ship runs into the rear of the enemy ship, the enemy ship takes one point of damage and the ramming ship takes no damage.   In addition, on the D6 roll of 4+ the rammed ship's engines have taken damage and the ship's speed is halved for the rest of the game.

Power Rams

Some ships are equipped with power rams, especially Imperial ships.  These power rams aid in making ramming attacks on other ships by maximising the damage done to the enemy ship and minimizing damage to the ship equipped with the ram.  When a ship equipped with a power ram makes a ram attack, it adds +1 to the damage done to the rammed ship and reduces the damage doen to the ramming ship by 1.
