Points Figuring System for Ships
For Cruisers please use the following guildelines.
- Shields - 10 points per "level" (max 2)
- Armour - (Armour 4+ - 6 points)(Armour 5+ - 8 points)
- Armored Prow - 10 points.
- Turrets - 10 points a piece. (max 3)
- Range - +10 points for every 15 cm over 30cm (max of 60cm)
- Speed - 5 points for every 5cm (max of 30cm)
- Hits - 1 point per hit(max of 8 for cruisers/heavy cruisers, max 10 for grand cruisers)
- Additional D6 for "All Ahead Full" - 10 points (max of 1 extra, max of 2 for
light cruisers)
- Additional 45 degrees of turn - 5 points.(light cruisers only(max of 6 hits))
- Lances - 8.33 points per "point of strength"
- Weapons Batteries - 1.5 points per "point of strength."
- Torpedoes - 8.75 points per "point of strength" (prow armament only, max of
strength 6)
- Launch bays(Imperial Ships(i.e. WITHOUT Assault Boats) - 13.5 points per "point of
launch capability".
- Launch bays(Chaos Ships(i.e. with Assault Boats) - 18 points per "point of launch
capability".
For Battleships use the following guildlines.
- Shields - 10 points per "level" (max 6)
- Armour - (Armour 4+ - 6 points)(Armour 5+ - 8 points)
- Armored Prow - 10 points.
- Turrets - 10 points a piece. (max 6)
- Range - +10 points for every 15 cm over 30cm (max of 60cm)
- Speed - 5 points for every 5cm (max of 25cm)
- Hits - 1 point per hit(max of 12)
- Lances - 8.33 points per "point of strength"
- Weapons Batteries - 1.5 points per "point of strength."
- Torpedoes - 4.25 points per "point of strength" (prow armament only, max of
strength 9)
- Launch bays(Imperial Ships(i.e. WITHOUT Assault Boats) - 13.5 points per "point of
launch capability".
- Launch bays(Chaos Ships(i.e. with Assault Boats) - 18 points per "point of launch
capability".
For Escorts please use the following guildelines.
- Shields - 10 points per "level" (max 1)
- Armour - (Armour 4+ - 6 points)(Armour 5+ - 8 points)
- Turrets - 10 points a piece. (max 2)
- Range - +10 points for every 15 cm over 30cm (max of 45cm)
- Speed - no charge for escorts
- Hits - 1 point per hit(max of 1)
- Lances - 8.33 points per "point of strength" (max strength of 2)
- Weapons Batteries - 1.5 points per "point of strength."(max strength of 4)
- Torpedoes - 4.25 points per "point of strength" (prow armament only, max of
strength 2)
All weapons start at a range of 30 cm. and for every 15 cm beyond that, it's an
additional 10 points.
And as for total points, after figuring the total points, round it. For a result
with a last digit (before the decimals) of 1-2, round down; of 3-4, round to 5; of a
result of 5, drop the decimals; of 6-7 round to 5; of 8-9 round up to 0; and a result of
0, drop the decimals.
Also, Nova Cannons cost 70 points, and to equip a nova cannon on a battleship or
cruiser, you CANNOT have any other form of prow weaponry.
I hope this help clear up some questions. Practice figuring the points against the
ships in the book(Imperial & Chaos ships).
Ships that come within 5 points using this system are the Desolator battleship, The
Slaughter Class Cruiser, the Murder Class Cruiser, The Hades class heavy Cruiser, The
repulsive class Grand Cruiser, the Dominator class cruiser, the Tyrant class cruiser, the
overlord class battlecruiser, and the Gothic class cruiser(gets torpedoes for 4.25
apiece).
And ships that come within 10 points include, the Lunar class cruiser, and the
dauntless class light cruiser.
