While I was watching a BFG game (and getting a more definative handle on the rules and flow of the game) I noticed that they had a LOT of modelled torps. When I asked what they were made of and how they did it I got a very pleasant surprise. Using PVA (Elmer's Glue), the torp templates, and toothpicks they whipped out a whole lot of them. They just cut a toothpick in half and used each half as a torp. I thought that they were a bit too long so I'd cut them down a bit (as I will when I make some). For the base they used another toothpick, stuck it through the template and then glued it to the torp. Since toothpicks are incredibly cheap you can not only do regular torps, but you can do the special torps very easily by painting them some other colors.
