Chaos Ravager Scout Ship

RAVAGER CLASS SCOUT SHIP

80 pts

Little is known of the Ravager's construction. It appears to be an attempt by the Chaos warlords to build a compromise between the speed and manoeuverability of escorts and the staying power of a cruiser. Presumeably devised by the twisted minds of the Chaos Squat engineers, it appears to be based on the engines of the Slaughter class cruiser in a much lighter frame. As with many engines of war created by the Chaos Squats, there appears to be little or no living crew aboard the Ravager; sensor augeries reveal that it is instead controlled by a daemon from the warp, summoned and bound into the adamantium frame. The high power of the Ravager's large engine, combined with the daemonic energy fed to it by its controlling entity, means that the Ravager is blisteringly fast but at a cost to its firepower. Although primarily used as a long-ranged scouting ship, the Ravager has also found a niche in conventional battles, where it's speed allows it to quickly manoeuvre around the rear of slower-moving ships and tail them, pouring a constant stream of fire into their lightly armoured rear.
