Heres a shot of the chassis of the Hornet c/w top assault cannon turret and door mounted assault jobbie. Engines are from a 1/72 scale F16 kit.
Well the project is coming along nicely. Here are some shots of the 'raw' chassis. Basic body is a Rhino, chin gondola and engine pods are plastic card, the engine pods are from a 1/72nd scale F16 kit, flaperons are from a 1/72nd scale F4 Phantom kit. Top turret is a Dread arm - the assault cannon has been chopped off and turned through 90degs to give it the correct angle. The rear has a Predator top plate. Underneath is a cut down half a Leman Russ cannon blended into the rear of the gondola with some green stuff. However I plan to draw up some revised plans using a plastic card bigger body, You see I want an SM with a Heavy Bolter hanging out the side sweeping the LZ, you simply can't do this with the teeny-tiny GW Rhino body.
