Kindred Spirits

by Eric Kingrea

"Aggggaaaah! HA HA HA! Araaaaagh!"

The dark mixture of screams of agony and sounds of glee echoed down the corridor which held the specimen bay in the Chaos warship, Fabius's Project. This strange cacophany of pain sent a cold chill down the sine of even the bravest and most rash of the remaining Dark Eldar raiders.

In the laboratory of his ship, Fabius Bile toyed with the first of the captive raiders. The Dark Eldar was strapped to his chair by human skin and was held down by hands which Fabius had "liberated" from their owners. "I know little of this 'Dark' Eldar society from which you hail. I wish to know more. You will give me this information." Fabius said to his guest.

The captive looked up to his captor and grinned. It was a bloody grin, as the Chaos torturer had torn out the Eldrad's fangs early in the interrogation. "We are kindred spirits, human. Equals in our art. In my society, I'm a torturer as well. Im beyond the pain that you can inflict upon me. I live for it."

"You still did not answer my question." Fabius said as he plucked a syringe from his Chirurgeon and gave it to one of his Chaos-warped assistants. The mindless creature took the syringe and stood still, waiting for its master's orders.

"Inject it into the prisoner." Fabius commanded.

Oh yes, don't be shy." The captive said as he moved his head in order to give the drone a clear angle into the vein.

The sudden constriction of his heart made the captive raider cry out in agony. Just as he thought it would capsize into itself, it reverted to normal; only to constrict again.

Bile reached to a nearby counter made of Ork bone and picked out a weapon.

"An exquisite weapon; this stinger, much like my Xyclos needler. Such a beautiful affect it has on its target." Fanbius commented as he toted the pistol-like weapon and remembered the way Eziemel died.

The stinger dart had somehow managed to pierce the Enchanced warrior's power armor. The Traitor Marine didn't know wha had hit him by the time the poisons overloaded his nervous system and caused Eziemel to explode. The dead marine's armor and shattered bones flew across the immediate area; lodging into the flesh of nearbye troops with the force of vibroblades.

"What are you going to do with me?" The raider asked as he once again coughed up blood. The Eldrad did not show the slightest bit of fear in the comment.

"I'm going to sacrifice you to the Dark Gods of course. You and your warriors. It has been a while since I've recieved a favor from them and I'm very eager o get more supplies." Fabius said with the glint of madness in his eyes common to Chaos Marines.

He was about to tell the drone to inject the captive again, when an idea crossed his mind. He looked at the drone and then again at the captive.

"Yes, that could work. I've never had an Eldar before." He mumbled to himself. "They're usually to weak to survive the process, but this one seems extraordinarily resistant to pain."

"What are you mumbling about?" The captive asked.

"I've decided not to sacrifice you. You will be my little treat." Bile exclaimed while grinning with a sick kind of joy.

The grin is what sparked the first glint of fear into the raider's eyes.

* * * *

Fabius sat on his throne enjoying the view that he had to the sacrifice. The raiders stood below him, each having his throat slit by the sacrifical blade. The knife was diseased so that each raider decomposed before they hit the ground.

As the last of the sacifices decomposed on the ships floor, Fabius stroked his armoured hand across his new "pet's" head.

"You see Eldar, we may be kindred spirits in distributing pain, but we are not equals." Bile said to the new drone with a smile.

Somewhere, within what was left of the drone's Chaos warped soul; the captive was screaming.
