The auditorium of their new home was smaller and less ornate that the one they knew on Icharus, but it was what they had to learn to call home. Home was now a Lunar Base over the planet Golatha just beyond the Astronomicon. The Serpents of Death had secured the base against only light resistance, while Ork hordes fought the planetary defense forces below.
Atraikius had called what was left of the chapter together in order to dictate their new organization since he realized that without a strong enough structure, they would be lost to the chaos they were to spread. He had detailed how the chapter would now be divided into five legions, all wearing the chapter symbol on their right shoulder to signify their betrayal; the first legion was to be commanded by himself, and would bear the chaos star to show their greater purpose; the second legion was to be commanded by Zor, and would bear the sign of Khorne to show their devotion to their chosen; the third legion would be commanded by Mutius, bearing the sign of Nurgle; the fourth legion Canidius and Tzeentch; and the fifth legion, Lodovico and Slaanesh. Along with the use of signs instead of company colors, Atraikius ordered that they would now use colors to represent their successes against the Empire; all who had been with the Serpents of Death as Icharus burned, would use black markings to show that they were those that were betrayed by the Empire, otherwise red would be a sign of newly inducted members, with bronze, silver and gold used to represent the numbers of Imperial troops slain.
Unit Variations
Daemon Prince and Greater Daemons - Due to the Serpents of Deaths goals, they
are unwilling to give themselves over to chaos to the extent required to become a Daemon
Prince, or a to summon a Greater Daemon. Therefore, they may not take Daemon Princes or
Greater Daemons.
Chaos Terminators - The Serpents of Death are restricted to no more than 1
Terminator squad in their units.
Chaos Dreadnought - The Serpents of Death are restricted to 1 Dreadnought due to
their rarity.
Caducus Serpens - A Character may take a bonded Caducus Serpens and wargear in
place of Spiky Bits with the same effect.
