Artificier Scout armor.......................5 pts.

Artificier Scout armor is made by master craftsmen and offers a greater level of protection than standard scout armor but at the reduced weight and bulk necessary for scout officers and veterans to continue to perform their jobs. It may be taken as an upgrade for a model wearing standard scout armor and increases the models’ save to 3+. A model wearing Artificier Scout Armor may use all standard rules for moving thru cover and infiltrating if normally allowed to do so. Artificier scout armor may be taken by any model allowed to purchase wargear.

Blind grenades.......................2 pts.

Any Force recon unit (with the exception of Speeders which may still have smoke launchers as a vehicle upgrade) may be equipped with blind grenades for 2 pts per model. Independent Character models assigned to a unit with blind grenades do not need to purchase them separately for the unit to be able to use them. A unit carries enough Blind or Smoke Grenades for one use during the battle. A unit cannot assault on the same turn it uses these grenades and they are used in the Shooting Phase, instead of firing any weapons. Until the start of the player's next turn, the unit will count as being in cover, receiving a 5+ Cover Save. Because they count as being in cover, they will also strike first if assaulted, unless the enemy is armed with something like Frag Grenades or the Banshee Mask.

Cameleoline Cloak.......................5 pts.

Some fortunate Force Recon characters are the proud owners of Eldar Ranger Cameleoline cloaks. The few cloaks that are available were stripped from the dead bodies of the alien scouts. These cloaks and robes make the wearer all but invisible to the naked eye. A character wearing a chameleoline cloak adds +1 to any cover saves allowed (eg, a 5+ cover save becomes a 4+ cover save). If they are not in cover then they have a cover save of 6+. In a unit the character with the cameleoline cloak may opt to take a cover save instead of a regular trooper but will suffer the consequences if it is failed.
