Harlequin Special Rules

Fleet of Foot: In the shooting phase you may declare that an Harlequin unit is going to run instead of shoot. Roll a d6. The score is the distance in inches the models in the unit MAY move in that shooting phase. This move is not affected by difficult terrain. All Harlequin Models are able to use the fleet of foot rule except Vehicles.

Flip: Harlequins which are already engaged in Hand to Hand combat at the start of their movement phase may ‘flip out’ of combat during the movement phase. This allows the model to remove themselves from the combat engagement without breaking or suffering blows from the enemy. A Harlequin who flips out of combat may move his full normal move and may be placed facing any direction ready to shoot as normal. This does not count as falling back and the Models may travel in any direction they desire. The opponent may not advance. A Harlequin may not flip out of one combat engagement into another.

Death Dance: once per battle a unit or model may use the death dance special attack. For that one phase the A (attacks) characteristic is doubled as the Harlequin explodes into a whirlwind of acrobatic mayhem. If used by a unit, the entire unit must use the Death dance in the same phase. This ability may even be used in the opponents Hand to Hand combat phase.

Dispersed Formation: Harlequins rely on movement and tumbling to perform their incredible feats of prowess and for this they need plenty of space. All Harlequin models are able to maintain Squad formation at 3" rather than the normal 2" employed by other races. This rule does not apply to the Troops known as Orchestrata and they must maintain coherency as usual.
