HISTORY OF THE OMEGA LEGION |
The Omega Legion is not one of the original Legions, but instead is a Legion made up of Space Marines from many Legions who have turned to the worship of Chaos. They have fought together for millenia and have become a deadly and dedicated fighting force for the Chaos Gods. They have members who are dedicated to Khorne, others who are dedicated to Tzeencth , and others who have no particular Chaos God, they are all united by their belief in Chaos Undivided and their great Warlord Apollyon. There are some followers of Slaanesh and Nurgle, but they are in their own small companies.
They all believe that the Emperor betrayed them and all of Mankind, that the Emperor is a coward and enslaver of worlds. They believe that Horus was on a Crusade to free Mankind from the Emperor's yoke and that they are carrying on that Crusade.
The Omega Legion carries out attacks on the Imperium, striking wherever they see a chance to weaken the Emperor's hold. They actively recruit Human warriors from the harshest of worlds and their Apothecaries inject them with the geneseed of the many Legions their members originally came from, this keeps the Legion strong and keeps Chaos mutations to a minimum.
The emblem of the Legion is the letter Omega (Greek letter Omega), and their armor is either black with bronze trim, or midnight blue with bronze trim, either way all emblems and badges of the Imperium have been removed. There is a wide variety of Armour and weapons in use, as the Legion still makes many converts from the ranks of the Loyal Space Marines and their newer members are amongst the most fanatical usually turning to Khorne.
The Legion rules several worlds in the Eye of Terror, and they have many dealings with worlds where the Emperor's hold is weak. They deal with many Cultists, and their Techmarines turn out many simple weapons to sell to the Cultists and other disaffected populations. This has made the Omega Legion one of the strongest and wealthiest of all the Chaos Legions. They actively work to increase their strength and influence for the time when they will be at the forefront of the Great Chaos Crusade that will come when they and the other Chaos Legions will free mankind from the tyranny of the False Emperor. "Death to the False Emperor, for we are the Omega!" is their mighty battle cry.
