Eldanesh the Dreadnought

40K3 conversion by Tom and Erik Setzer; Based on 40K2 background and rules by Mike Freeman

This is based on some fluff from the Eldar Codex

Eldanesh was a hero of ancient Eldar legend, supposedly killed by Khaela Mensha Khaine, then cast into one of the three Eldar home world's moons, making it red. He was the greatest and most respected of all the Eldar champions of old.

Recently, on the Craftworld of Alaitoc, a strange occurrence came about in the Infinity Circuit. The Farseer on duty detected a strong presence, but the crystalline spider guards of the Circuit where not responding. Could it be that a daemon had entered the Craftworld through the Circuit? This would have grave consequences. But, the Farseer heard a small psychic plea for help. He was astounded at the power of this individual, who, oddly enough, was speaking in an ancient version of the Eldar tongue. He Farseer was overjoyed when he came in full contact with the spirit, and realized who it was. It was the legendary Eldanesh, lost in the Warp for a thousand millennia, searching for Eldar souls!

The Bonesingers of Alaitoc quickly engineered Eldanesh into a spirit stone, and was patched into a Wraithguard shell so he could speak. He had many questions, obviously wondering what had happened to the peaceful Eldar afterlife that had once been. He was very relieved to be among Eldar again, but confused about how the universe had changed. What where humans? What were the monsters in the Warp? Why were there so few Eldar left? He was given the answers, and became very shocked at the way the universe had degenerated into a never-ending battle-zone in which the Eldar seemed doomed to lose. He became curious about how he could help his people, and spent many months watching the Exarchs practice, and getting accustomed to life in space. He learned quickly, as he being one of the strongest Eldar minds in history.

He then accompanied a small band of warriors to a skirmish with the forces of Chaos. At first he watched, not knowing how to really fight with laser weapons and such. Soon dark forces of chaos gained the upper hand, and the day looked lost. Eldanesh became enraged! These foul beings were tearing the Eldar souls from their bodies! He immediately ran into the fray, taking command over the dead Farseer. As he fought, he was overtaken by a strange guide, telling him how to fight in this strange time. The other Eldar watched, and rejoiced. With Eldanesh, greatest champion of the Eldar in command, they began to fight with a zeal and ferocity that made the Chaos followers flee in terror. After this, Eldanesh claimed that it was the dead gods of the Eldar that guided him through the battle.

After this battle, he then requested to be put into a Dreadnought to serve his people better. Eldanesh now travels the Craftworlds, defending and commanding his people to glorious victory.
