The early pre-teen years of Abraham Cerberus are shrouded in mystery. He was rescued by a Blood Angel squad sent deep into the centre of the central hive on Proxima Majorum to eliminate a Chaos Coven as part of a purge under Inquisitor Wulfenstein. When the Blood Angels had fought their way through to the central temple of the Chaos cult they found the Demagogue of the cult slain with eight of his Acolyte followers. The only signs of the assailant, a young underhive ganger holding an auto pistol and an ancient power sword. The bloodstained boy was bought before the Inquisitor. Wulfenstein, after several days of psychic probing passed the boy free from taint and a hero of the Imperium. Barely did the boy utter a word from when the Blood Angels first found him. No one knows to this day what he told the Imperial Inquisitor. Captain Tycho commanding the Blood Angel force was so impressed by the boys deeds and natural skill at arms that he took it upon himself to induct the boy as a Blood Angel rather than return the boy to the underhive. He took the name Cerberus from ancient Earth mythology, the guardian of the gates to the underworld; No one knows what his real name was or even if he had one! Cerberus found Marine life tougher than most. He had a hard time attuning to the discipline of the chapter. On many occasions the young marine was on punishment detail. However as a Scout on the battlefield Cerberus proved his worth. He took many risks as a Scout pushing his unit deep behind enemy lines. On one occasion Cerberus took charge of six Scouts after their squad leaders had been killed. The group found themselves cut off behind Ork lines. For eight weeks without supply or communications, the squad fought on, destroying fuel and ammunition dumps, and a teleport station. Sometimes supplies were so low the only weapons the Scout could use were their combat knives. When Imperial Fist marines reinforced the Imperial Forces on Zarlarg III the Ork invaders were pushed back and the rag-tag Scout unit rejoined the Blood Angels. As a testament to his leadership Cerberus returned 5 of the 6 Scouts to the Blood Angels. Ten years on Cerberus was a squad leader in the third company and fast becoming a hardened combat veteran. However his brother marines were wary of Cerberus who sometimes would break from the squad pushing forward where a retreat would seem the best tactical option. One such incident defending an Adeptus Mechanicus Scouting party on the second moon of Delull II saw Cerberus charging a group of three robotic warriors from a force that appeared from nowhere. The squad was ordered to retreat after a Landraider was lost to the automatons. In the conflict one robot was felled and disappeared by the marines’ bolter fire. Another fell to a well-placed Meltabomb that blew the abomination apart. The third struck the battling Blood Angel wrenching the power armoured forearm of his left arm from him. Even though gravely wounded Cerberus fought on emptying his boltgun into the mechanoid, reeling backwards the robots head exploded, shards of metal penetrated Cerberus’ armour. In agony Cerberus fell, only with the support of his brother marines were the raiders forced back and Cerberus recovered. Aboard the Strike Cruiser Cerberus shunned the offer of a standard bionic arm. Cerberus needed more power. Techmarine Melvaar fashioned a bionic arm combined with a Power Fist, the weapon is permanently attached to the marine in or out of armour. Captain Tycho, always friend and mentor to Cerberus took it upon himself to honour his valour on Delull II, Cerberus was promoted to the first company, serving with distinction for eight years. But the marine preferred his power armour to the bulky Terminator suits, but Cerberus favoured the Storm bolter over his own boltgun. His wisdom and experience was then transferred in to the Chapters’ main stream when promoted to the rank of Sergeant with the 2nd Company serving in the Assault squads. There was still a dark side to Abraham Cerberus. Whenever his unit were assigned to engage Chaos forces Cerberus would withdraw into himself, his mind always on the mission, would at times seem to lead a personal war against these fallen followers of the Emperor. Often rushing into combat Power Fist swinging and bolter blazing, some think he will soon succumb to the Black Rage.

His mentor, Tycho, finally fell to the Ork hordes of Warlord Begum Butz defending the Agri world of Gamma Procyon IV. Cut off from his forces Tycho slew forty Orks before disappearing under a mob of boyz. So enraged was Cerberus that he lead the remaining assault squads in a jump pack assault against Begum Butz’ command buggy. Cerberus personally charged the buggy, whilst the Orks pounded away at the charging marine, autocannons firing. Planting a Meltabomb Cerberus blew the front off the command buggy. The three Nob bodyguards were dispatched easily by the blue white power his powerfist. Whilst his comrades held off the rampaging Orks charging to their Warbosses side, Cerberus met the Warlord in an epic combat, even though wounded, Cerberus slew the warlord, tearing the head from its green body and holding it aloft on top of the hill where the combat had taken place. Cerberus let out a mighty blood curdling scream, the remaining Ork hordes broke and ran only a few stalwart Nobz stood and fought only to be slain by the vengeful Blood Angels. Returning the shattered body of Tycho to Baal, Dante, high Lord of the Blood Angels bestowed the Captaincy of the Second Company on the shoulders of Abraham Cerberus. In the following two years. Cerberus led the 2nd Company in several campaigns, Dultaan Prime saw his troops defending the governor from an assault from the ‘Brothers of Silence’ Genestealer cult, Cerberus single handedly defeated several purestrain ‘Stealers before leading a detachment of Death company after their Chaplain had fallen against the Partiarch. When the population and PDF forces revolted against the government imposed food taxes on Waglar II the 2nd Company aided the Arbites forces in restoring order and publically executed the ringleaders. Most recently Cerberus and his forces were aiding the Dark Angel and PDF forces in repelling a Chaos invasion and Eldar raiders on Barthius World in the Magellan Prime system. Here, he engaged the Eldars’ leading Farseer in hand to hand combat seriously injuring the Eldar, his defeat of the Eldars’ commander at the Talbad spaceport was the action that broke the Eldars’ advance. Blood Lord Dante, in recognition of the his deeds commissioned the Chapters master Artificer, Tech Commander Locqutus to produce a new suit of master crafted power armour. Upon the return of the 2nd Co. to take over the defence of the Blood Angels monastary fortress on Baal Secundus Cerberus was presented with the armour and his second service stud by Lord Mephiston Chief Librarian of the Chapter.
